East Boston's Lost Schools: The Webb School

The Webb School was located on Porter Street, the location of the old Relief Station.  Constructed in 1853 and named after school committee member Nathan Webb, the three-story brick building contained six classrooms and a cellar. The building was abandoned for use as a school in the 1890s, and the building surrendered to the City of Boston in 1906.
